Man fined $220 for dropping rubber bands in Singapore

A man has been fined $220, for dropping rubber bands on a public road in Singapore, as littering offences in the country are punishable by law.

It was reported that the man while walking towards his vehicle, shot two rubber bands in the air, following which a ticket was issued to him by Singapore’s National Environment Agency on May 23 and shared on Twitter, detailing the nature of the offence.

Social media users have reacted to this news, a Twitter handle @Diviyanth, tweeted “I honestly think it serves the person right, to be fined for throwing the rubber bands, it’s not the item size, but the action of doing so; thus this fine.”
